If you started your business between 6th April 2020 and 5th April 2021
and your income exceeded £1000
then you will need to register with the HMRC and complete a tax self assessment.
This training will show you what you need to do…..
By the end of the session, you will know:

How to register with the HMRC

What information you will need for your self assessment

Which expenses you can claim
-
Which forms you will need to fill in, what they look like, and where your information will need to go.

What you need to do if you have another job
-
What National Insurance payments you may have to make.

(Please note that the training does not include 1:1 support for specific financial circumstances, if you need further guidance you are advised to contact a bookkeeper or accountant.)

Previously a primary teacher, I began my baking business, Leading Lady Cakes, in 2014. At the same time, I also qualified as a bookkeeper with The Institute of Certified Bookkeepers gaining Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications including a Level III Diploma in Completion of Self Assessment Tax Returns, although am no longer practicing as I now concentrate on my baking!
